The Town of Duck, NC, located on the northern Outer Banks along N.C. Highway 12, between Southern Shores and Corolla. Duck is a relatively new town and vacation destination that was only incorporated in 2002. It remained undeveloped until the 1970's. Today, Duck is a thriving year-round town as well as a popular family beach destination on the Outer Banks. Commercial development is limited along Highway 12 which has helped the community keep its charm characterized by quaint shops, fine dining, and a variety of watersports both on the sound and in the ocean. There are no public tennis courts in Duck, NC. So unless you are staying at the Sanderling or one of the Time-share communities, you will have to make the short drive to Pine Island Racquet Club. Both indoor and outdoor courts are available. The outdoor courts are built amongst thickets cutting down the natural beach breezes.
