We realize it can be difficult to plan a destination wedding from afar. You want quality vendors, the best prices, and service you can trust for your special day. Yet the fun of planning can quickly become overwhelming and rushed when couples breeze onto the island for only a day to pack in meetings, tastings and major wedding decisions.
That's why The Saltaire now offers a chance for you to plan your wedding in a relaxed luxurious environment. You come to plan during a cozy winter weekend, and let us take care of the scheduling details. (The decisions are still up to you!)
The Wedding Planning Weekend is $500, plus taxes, and includes:

The Wedding Planning Weekend is $500, plus taxes, and includes:
- Accommodations and Continental Breakfast for two for two nights in the Green Suite, with arrival on Friday night and departure after breakfast on Sunday morning.
- Option for a Group Weekend! Parents, friends and additional family are welcome to book additional rooms for your weekend at the regular nightly room rate. The Saltaire will easily accommodate the happy couple, as well as aditional family members up to 5 bedrooms. Click here for rates.
- Tour of The Saltaire with owner, Ron Forlano, after check-in on Friday. Ron will gladly answer any questions you might have about The Saltaire property and wedding planning on the Outer Banks, over wine, cheese & crackers.
- Scheduling of Appointments: The Saltaire will arrange hour-long appointments with your preferred vendors beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning then continuing into the afternoon as needed. If you would like us to book our own recommended vendors, we would be happy to do so as well.
- Catered Lunch: Your planning day will break for two hours mid-day over a catered lunch prepared by The Saltaire's in-house chef and caterer, Gwen Hart, who will gladly discuss the culinary details of your event with you after you dine. This will be its own mini-tasting, as you will choose potential wedding menu items in advance for Gwen to prepare.
- Concierge Services such as dinner reservations, golf tee times and basic area information will be gladly provided by The Saltaire's reservationist during your stay.
Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend Special!
Summer isn't the only time to visit the Outer Banks.
The area is full of charm during the holidays.
Full House Rental: Stay at The Saltaire this Thanksgiving Weekend from Wednesday until Sunday morning at $5000 (with the option to add Sunday night at no charge) for the entire house, sleeping up to 14 guests;
Or, for a Couples' or Small Family Getaway, stay 4-nights, from Wednesday until Sunday morning, at the per bedroom rate with a 3-room rental minimum. The cost of this option is $550 per night for the Green, Blue and Twin Rooms, though specific rooms are negotiable depending on guests' needs. You also have the option to add Sunday night for the additional nightly rate.
Add Thanksgiving Dinner prepared by The Saltaire's in-house chef, Gwen Hart of Enchanted Cuisine, for $24 per guest.
Menu is fully customizable with the chef, and includes:
Roast Turkey & Gravy, Mashed Potatoes, Herb & Celery Stuffing Balls, Green Beans Almondine, Frozen Cranberry & Pineapple Salad, Fall Squash Casserole, Pumpkin Pie, Iced Tea & Lemonade

Christmas is the perfect time to gather the family... and the Outer Banks is the perfect location. Because our beach is accessible from the entire east coast of the country, it is a convenient meeting point for extended families around the holidays.
The Saltaire will gladly provide a gorgeous tree... You just have to play Santa. You may cook your holiday meal in a gourmet kitchen, watch the games on our 72" TV, and walk on the beach to make truly unique memories and photographs on Christmas morning!
The entire house is available for the week of Christmas at the weekend rate of $5,000 from 12/21/11 until 12/28/11,
which is almost 50% off the usual weekly rate!
OR, opt for a long 4-day Christmas weekend at the two night rate of $3400 from 12/22/11 until 12/26/11... another 50% savings!
Please note that dates and length of stay are negotiable based on guests' needs. We will gladly extend our 50% savings regardless of final details.

A long weekend rental from 12/30/11 until 1/2/12 is $3375.
