A b o u t T h e S a l t a i r e
The Saltaire is an immaculate Victorian-style home with five suites that was custom designed and built in 2005 by owners, Ron and June Forlano, specifically to host upscale events on the property during a rental of the home. Since opening, the house and grounds have become a premier event location on the Outer Banks. The Saltaire specializes in elegant Outer Banks beach weddings and weekly vacation rentals. Short stays and half-week rental opportunities were added in 2011 and are offered around scheduled bookings, providing guests the opportunity to enjoy the comfortable luxury and ideal location of the house when shorter stays are desired. Our goal is to provide the highest quality of service and accommodation at every event and during every stay. We welcome guests to relax and enjoy the picturesque surroundings, fine furnishings and casual sophistication of The Saltaire House.

The Saltaire sits on the corner of Marlin Drive and Duck Road, conveniently located in downtown Duck, within easy walking distance to shopping, dining and attractions; yet privately nestled on a road that ends in a cul-de-sac with private beach access less than half a mile’s walk to the ocean. The Town of Duck is located on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, which offers some of the most beautiful, pristine and well-preserved beaches on the Atlantic coast. The area offers world-class cuisine, rich history showcased by national parks and preserves, museums and outdoor dramas, unparalleled fishing and water activities, birding, and five lighthouses spread over 130 miles of shoreline to explore.

The first floor includes a formal Dining Room with banquet server and seating for 10; a Pub Room decorated in fine leather furniture that offers a home theater system and custom-built bar; a gourmet Kitchen designed for catering events that houses three stainless steel refrigerators, range and dishwasher; a generous half-bath; and a Living Room with two sets of French doors that open to a view of the property’s landscaped Gardens, heated saltwater Pool complete with umbrellaed outdoor dining sets and lounge chairs, and Gazebo that includes an outdoor wet bar, gas grill and loo.
The second floor boasts five Guest Suites, each decorated with fine antique touches and includes an en suite bath, generous closet space and quality linens. The rooms are spacious and comfortable so that guests may settle in for a night or a week with the same ease and feeling of luxury. Please visit each room for detailed pictures and descriptions.
The bottom floor features a Theater Room that holds a pool table, card table dressed with poker chips and cards, foosball table and option for table tennis. The room offers a wet bar with wine cooler and ice machine, as well as a 72" television with theater system that is as perfect for business presentations as it is for watching the big game. Laundry facilities are available on this level, as is garage access so that handicapped guests may access the elevator that services all three levels of the house.
